Mata Vaishno Devi is considered to be one of the divine forms of MahaKali, MahaLakshmi and MahaSaraswati, combined. The legend talks about all the goddesses coming together and bestowing their strengths and powers upon a human girl born in the abode of a Ratnakar. With traits of MahaSaraswati, the girl, named Vaishnavi displayed great appetite of knowledge from an adolescent age. Attributes of the power of MahaKali gave Vaishnavi the courage to face adverse situations during her pursuit of Lord Vishnu, and virtuous traits of MahaLakshmi gave her the power of assuming forms of goddesses.
